Where the Promise Lands
The Sky-Stick was never a weapon, yet humanity has spent a thousand years killing for it. As a young seeker follows the trail of his father’s final wish, he realizes he isn't the only one looking for the artifact. An immortal visitor has been waiting in the shadows for centuries, and it wants its property back.

Introduction
For thousands of years, the world has been haunted by The Black-Thorn. It was a glowing object that fell from the stars, bringing a fire so intense it left nothing but white ash and ghost stories in its wake. It turned a thriving kingdom into a graveyard and its king into a legend of bad omens. The object has been lost to time, but the war it ignited has never stopped.
The story follows a lineage bound by words spoken in the shadow of death. It began 43 years ago when a grandfather fell in battle, leaving behind a son consumed by a need for blood. That son spent his life climbing the military ranks to become a high-ranking commander, fueled by one goal: to crush the enemies who took his father’s life.
But on his deathbed, surrounded by the smoke of a modern battlefield, the commander finally realized the futility of the cycle. He passed a final, crushing burden to his 22-year-old son not a promise to destroy, but a promise to end the war forever.
Our protagonist refuses to follow the path of the soldier. Instead, he becomes a seeker of truths. He realizes that to stop a thousand-year war, he must find the source of the madness: The Black-Thorn.
As he tracks the artifact through ancient ruins and forgotten history, he is unaware that its original owner is still among them. A creature that does not age and does not bleed red has spent centuries healing and hiding, watching humanity tear itself apart over a tool they were never meant to touch.
Now, the seeker and the visitor are on a collision course. One wants to save his world; the other just wants his property back. Both are bound by a history that predates mankind.
Author’s Note
This story is a piece of my imagination with one goal: to explore how we can break cycles of violence to make this Earth a better place. Because I balance this project with my career and company, I use AI-assisted imagery to help storyboard the world I see in my head. My focus is on the message that peace is a choice, even when history demands blood.
